Eddy Maniez is a pointillist artist, passionate about animals, he sublimates them with his team through his modern works of art.

“Self-taught artist since a young age, I have always been attracted to creation, drawing, painting, fashion, music, architecture… I worked as a forester for 20 years. Lovers of animals and their environments, they are a constant source of inspiration.”

Guided by humanity and creative generosity, he is curious about everything. His pleasure is to play with combinations, diverted materials and varied materials in order to surprise the eye and the touch.

his vision

and his soul

“Influenced by a range of artists such as: Georges de la Tour, Nicolas de Staël, Van Gogh, Pierre Soulage, Vasarely, Seurat, Signac, Tapies, Dubuffet, Kandinsky, etc. In the same way as music, from classical to rock to blues, I need variations, contrasts to feel the emotions that will guide me towards pleasure, astonishment, doubt and our existence.”

his technique

sharp to the eye, soft to the touch

Eddy Maniez draws his sculptures on paper with a pencil or on a computer. He is involved from the beginning and throughout the design process in order to give shape to his future work, before moving on to the prototyping phase.

Once this stage is completed, he begins creating resin or modeling in terracotta. He works in collaboration with a colorist painter to find the shades that best suit his project.

Only after having completed these steps does he take charge of work on the parts, before entrusting them to his competent team around him. All these aspects contribute to the richness and diversity of his works.

Precision
Precision

From the choice of the animal to begin with, its color, the lines and movements of the silicone pins, the SWAROVSKI® crystals, everything is mentally visualized to bring true works of art to life.

Mastery
Mastery

It is by freehand, control of breathing and gesture that each silicone pin is applied, no tracing, no preparation, with the naked eye.

He enhances his works through SWAROVSKI® crystals carefully chosen and integrated by hand.

“My silicone pin technique results from the combination of several things.

The initial idea came to me by imagining protecting dishes and fragile objects inside boats. An object covered with silicone pins is protected in the event of impact in bad seas. Then, I imagined creating different diameters of silicone and applying different spacings from each other, and then the increasing and decreasing movement was born.”
